There was reported drama at the funeral of author Zoleka Mandela, who had planned to be buried alongside her two children, mother, and grandmother.

Instead, she was laid to rest in a grave plot purchased by her ex-husband, Thierry Bashala. Zoleka’s aunt, Zenani Mandela-Dlamini, arrived with police and a court order, demanding that the author be buried elsewhere.
Initially, it was planned for her to be buried at the Mandela Estate at Fourways Memorial Park, but legal documents divided the family, resulting in her being moved to the ex-husband’s purchased grave.
Zoleka had allegedly listed people she didn’t want at her funeral, and both her aunt Zenani and ex-husband Thierry were on that list. Other names included Mandla Mandela, Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo, and Mike Seakamela, who she reportedly claimed had sexually abused her.
