“I’m ready to return to Nigeria, if the Police can guarantee my safety” – Naira Marley

Controversial rapper Naira Marley has declared his readiness to return to Nigeria to clear his name of all claims of being involved in Mohbad’s death.

Marley made this known while speaking in an interview with social commentator Reno Omokri on Wednesday.

You’d recall that Naira Marley has been linked to the demise of Mohbad after videos of him being assaulted surfaced online.

Speaking on his first interview since the incident, Naira Marley expressed that there’s already a mob who have been poisoned by media.

He noted that he can only return to the country if his safety would be guaranteed.

Naira said;

“There was another time when I was in America and his girl called me to say he locked himself in the toilet and he wanted to kil.l himself or something like that. So, I called him from there and recorded the conversation, asking him: “Why did you want to kil.l yourself? You are a king, if your family is stressing you out(because this time, he was with his family and all his family was around him) just tell them to chill, you can do what you want to do, do not stress yourself, if you kil.l yourself now, what do you want people to say.

I was so concerned so I called him to try to give him rest of mind, if your family is stressing you out, leave.”

“He wanted to commit su.ic_ide, in the video, I was just trying to find out what was wrong with him.”

Safety concerns

Marley raised concerns about the safety of his return to Nigeria, given the mob mentality that has been whipped up by the media. He said that he would only return if his safety could be guaranteed.

What does this mean for Naira Marley?

It is unclear when or if Naira will return to Nigeria. However, his declaration of readiness to do so is a significant development. It is clear that he is eager to clear his name and put this incident behind him.

Conclusion

The case of Marley and Mohbad is a complex one. There is still much that we do not know about what happened. However, it is important to note that Naira Marley is innocent until proven guilty. He deserves to be treated fairly and with due process of law.
