Spar Employee Fired After Video Leak? Employer Reveals Truth About Her Employment Status

Spar has set the record straight on rumours that they fired an employee after an intimate video of her surfaced online.

A woman, easily identifiable as a Spar employee due to her work uniform, unexpectedly became the centre of attention when a video, apparently intended for her romantic interest’s eyes only, surfaced on social media.

With opinions divided on the morality of leaking someone’s intimate content online, rumours spread rapidly that the Spar employee would not only have to contend with the shame of an intimate video being leaked but would have to deal with being jobless as Spar had fired her as a form of damage control.

Women For Change Slams Spar Following Rumours

In the wake of the rumours, Women For Change, a non-profit organisation advocating for the rights of women and children in South Africa, criticised Spar on X (formerly Twitter). They questioned the decision to fire the employee, emphasising that she was the victim in this situation.

According to Women For Change, the blame should lie with the individual who leaked the video without the employee’s consent.

“Why did the woman who worked at Spar got fired? She didn’t do anything wrong! She definitely did not consent for this video to go onto social media! The person who leaked the video is the one who needs to be held accountable! Revenge p**n is ILLEGAL in South Africa. #spar,” Women For Change put Spar on blast following rumours they had fired an employee over a leaked video.
