‘Idols SA’ Winner Thapelo Molomo Selling Eggs and Atchar from His Car
Thapelo Molomo, the Season 18 winner of ‘Idols SA,’ has taken an unexpected turn in his career by venturing into entrepreneurship. Alongside his significant cash prize from the show and his role as a Warrant Officer at the SAPS, Molomo is now selling trays of eggs and atchar from the trunk of his car.
While reactions from his followers have been mixed, Molomo remains unfazed, focusing on expanding his wealth and creating additional income streams. He recently invited people from Tembisa, Kempton Park, and Pretoria to reach out for atchar and eggs through a social media post. In an accompanying video, Molomo, dressed in a white shirt, beige pants, and a brown cap, can be seen making egg deliveries from his car.
Balancing Multiple Roles
Molomo, who is stationed at the Brits police station in the North West, emphasized the importance of balancing his law enforcement job with his new role as the latest “Idols SA” titleholder. He plans to manage his week for work and reserve weekends for gigs and music pursuits. Molomo mentioned that if he ever feels overwhelmed, he would seek support from his employer, highlighting the SAPS’ encouragement of pursuing passions without interfering with job responsibilities.
