Shebeshxt Fails to Appear at Assault & Attempted Murder Case After Stabbing Two Men

The pre-trial of Lehlogonolo Chauke, popularly known as “Shebeshxt,” has been postponed to July 19, 2024. The delay occurred because Chauke failed to appear at the Lebowakgomo Regional Court on July 11, 2024.

Mashudu Malabi, the Limpopo spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), confirmed that Chauke was unable to attend the court proceedings due to sickness. “Shebeshxt is facing charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and attempted murder,” said Malabi.

Chauke was arrested in April 2022 following an incident where he allegedly stabbed two men multiple times with a knife. The altercation happened in Lebowakgomo and was reportedly the result of a public argument. According to Malabi, Chauke allegedly stabbed the two men three times in different areas of their bodies.

The court has postponed the pre-trial to allow Chauke to provide a medical certificate proving his illness and inability to attend the proceedings. This postponement means that Chauke’s legal battles will continue, with the next court date now set for July 19, 2024.

The public and the victims involved in the case will be closely watching to see how the situation unfolds and whether Chauke will present the necessary medical documentation. The charges against him are serious, and the outcome of the trial will have significant implications for all parties involved.
