DJ Tira Denies Infidelity Allegations Amid Claims of Wife’s Affair
DJ Tira has strongly denied recent allegations of infidelity in his marriage, following claims by a blogger that his wife, Gugu Khathi, was involved in an affair with former Kwela Tebza member, Tebogo Lerole.
The rumors surfaced after GBV activist Slindile Khumalo, who attended an SUV Challenge event, claimed to have seen Gugu visiting Tebogo while they were both in the Eastern Cape for work. Slindile also mentioned having evidence and conversations that she might present in court, adding, “I don’t have to justify myself.”
However, DJ Tira, speaking to TshisaLIVE, dismissed the allegations as baseless, expressing his trust in his wife and labeling the claims as “nonsense.” He stated, “I trust my woman, I don’t pay attention to nonsense.”
Tebogo Lerole also categorically denied the affair, describing the accusations as false. He explained that Slindile had been dismissed due to her behavior and alleged that she had threatened to retaliate by spreading rumors about him and Gugu. He added, “I’m not bothered with that. I think Gugu knows the truth, her team knows the truth, and I think even the husband knows the truth. I have known Gugu since I was 15 years old.”
Slindile, however, disputed Tebogo’s claims, insisting that she was not employed by him and had not been informed of any dismissal.
At the time of writing, Gugu Khathi has not commented on the allegations. Last August, Gugu and DJ Tira had also dismissed rumors of a divorce, attributing the speculation to her late arrival at the South African Music Awards (Samas) and reaffirming that they were still happily together after 18 years as a couple and nearly a decade of marriage.
