The Bantwini family is grieving the loss of Ma Zondi, the grandmother of acclaimed singer and actress Nandi Madida.
Nandi, who is married to Grammy-winning producer Zakes Bantwini, recently shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram. “Good morning, I sadly lost my grandmother last night,” she wrote.
In a heartfelt tribute, Nandi expressed deep gratitude for the influence her grandmother had on her life. “I cannot emphasize how thankful I am to have experienced such a kind and graceful woman. She broke so many boundaries, both in her career and personal life. I will miss her dearly. What a beautiful legacy.”
Nandi also mentioned that she was thankful they had the chance to see each other just weeks before her grandmother’s passing. “She is now reunited with her husband, my grandfather—the love of her life—and, of course, her creator.”
Nandi’s post included a touching photo of her grandmother as a young woman, dressed elegantly in white.
